Happy June! June is always a big reset for me. With the anniversary of my moms passing (can’t believe it’s been 9 years - feels like yesterday), surge of nice weather and me finally settling into a proper routine post Ramadan, the coming of a new month always has me feeling grateful. 🥰 I have some new projects coming up and Wallahi I’m so excited to share them with you! 😬 Pray for your girl ok...I need it. Love always. 💞

Your girl knew the weather wouldn’t stick so I had to keep my cosy @mypinkmartini co-ord on deck for chilly days like today! I’m 5’5” (oh Allah, please give me one more inch) but where the waist band sits makes me look WNBA status and I love it. 💥 Also @preston.neville knowing my angles helps a bit too. 🙃

I am becoming a sucker for mommy and me outfits. I didn’t think I’d be that kind of mom until her dad started getting them matching kicks and obvi being the competitive parent I am - I had to level up. 😎 @sheinofficial is having their Family Fashion Week so gwan mama - go get all the matching looks of your dreams!

Dressing modestly is something I’ve always strived for. It isn’t easy because of course I have times when I wanna POP OFF in the summer but I restrain. 😌 Lately, I find myself deterring from the goal and have to remind myself to stick to my values. It’s probably going to be a struggle (like it has been) but I’m going to ride it out. Your girl is human..so if you see me on the street with some ankle out...mind ya business.😅

I always hurt for the women in my DMs. The ones who feel the pressure to be/stay married, the ones who pine for children, those who aren’t satisfied with their current situations. I’m sure you can gauge by now that I get the same inquiries over and over on how I manage on my own. Responsibilities, a mortgage, work, mothering, social life, etc., Women are so strong, so resilient, so damn talented and hard working that I wish these same women could see their potential beyond motherhood and men. Of course I understand the natural desire for companionship and family. But I hope we can shift the dialogue for our daughters, nieces and younger generations. Be independent. Make your own money. Actively have faith in God. Prioritize your loved ones. And if someone comes along to share in that - then alhumdullilah. But if it takes a little bit longer - then alhumdullilah for that too. Sending love to everyone with an uneasy heart. May Allah make it easy. Ameen. 💞✨

#ad As a working mom, meals aren't always easy to plan! Here's where @campbellcanada comes in! With a can of soup, I can simply whip up a quick dish for Raaya and I with chicken and potatoes or I can just have a nice comforting bowl of tomato soup with a side of grilled cheese! These limited edition Warhol inspired cans (@warholfoundation) have really enticed Raaya to drink her soup - anything this colourful and artistic will definitely get a 4 year olds attention!
