  • Vacation Fashion Essentials

    Warmer weather = leaving to even warmer climates to get our vacation on! April showers don’t only bring May flowers. They also bring depressing conditions which motivate our longing for better weather souls to venture out of our locality to get some sun, relaxation and unwind beneath a cabana of some sort while sipping on a virgin (or not) pina colada. Visualizing a scene like this only naturally compels me to imagine what I’ll be wearing as I take part in such activities.   • 2014 Shadis to Acquire Western Inspiration

    With current events unfolding at the recent fashion weeks in Pakistan, I personally am over the top excited to see what this year’s wedding guests will be sporting to events. All I can say is that PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week blew me away with some of the finest craftsmanship and designs I have ever laid eyes on. To be honest, my expectations with designers lately had faltered after visiting the homeland earlier in the year and observing that local designers started acquiring Indian inspirations. I am obsessed with the unique and exotic looks our masters of fashion foster and was so happy to see the latest developments through PSFW.

    When I think about it – there is literally nothing in this world that can satisfy me more than a long sleeved maxi dress. So when I came across this well-priced find at H&M – I was sure to snag it up as an essential for my 2014 spring/summer.

  • Pop of Spring with a Pop of Colour!

    Hi hi! So a quick post today on an outfit I wore a few weeks ago! It’s tremendously modest – casual jeans paired with a hefty sweater. I spruced up the outfit by adding some heels and a bright jacket. Besides that – nothing fancy here. If you can’t tell I’m all about simplicity and ease. I feel like I can’t express my disappointment in weather lately so save this look for a day that’s not rainy. That way – you won’t have to slosh through water and worms in your heels! Happy styling! P.S., Game 6 tomorrow in Brooklyn – Go Raptors! =)

  • Head Jewels, Matha Patis and Jhumars – Oh My!

    It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Wedding season!  Time to get dressed up on a weekly basis in our South Asian Sunday best and attend the weddings of our Massi’s son – his friend’s daughter’s cousin! 😉 Let’s face it ladies, weddings never get old. Aside from loving how dinner tastes after a two hour delay, we love getting dolled up, love the anticipation of how the bride is going to look and we totally love exercising all the trends and styles of South Asian wear! What can we forecast for this fast approaching 2014 season? A huge development that peaked its beautiful head (literally) last year was the craze of head jewels, aka matha patis, aka teekas – on steroids! These gorgeous adornments are exquisite statement pieces and when worn the right way, can pull any outfit together!

  • Blue Hues

    Every spring, I yearn to pull out the exposing shoes that I’ve waited all winter long to wear. This spring has been no different. As soon as temperatures hit plus numbers, I busted out my collection of flats for more casual days. With this look, I’ve paired my pointy toed loafers (SO comfortable) with a jacket that’s not necessarily the same colour but plays well with a similar shade.
